Reykjanesbær Heritage Museum collects objects, photographs, documents, and intangible cultural heritage.
As a general rule, only artifacts relating to the history of the territory of Reykjanesbær are collected.
About 140 models of ships and boats are in the collection of Reykjanesbær Heritage Museum.
The vast majority of them were built by
captain Grímur Karlsson.

The heritage museum is a member of the Icelandic cultural database Sarpur. The museum's artifacts and photographs are registered in the database. Those interested in browsing our collection can visit the website of Sarpur, where they can view the collection held by the museum. www.sarpur.is

Those who wish to donate artifacts to the museum are advised to contact the museum director by sending an email to the address byggdasafn@reykjanesbaer.is.
